Year 4: Greek Workshop

Ali Rushent from Wiltshire Museum came to Sandroyd to give the Year Four classes a fantastic Greek workshop.

The children were able to look at artefacts and replicas of artefacts from ancient Greece. They tried out real beeswax tablets with a stylus, using Greek letters. They also made Greek coins using gold and silver foil, looking at original Greek coins and the images that were once used to decorate the coins.

The children enjoyed trying some Greek food too, including hummus with pitta bread, tzatziki and taramasalata, black and green olives, feta cheese with cucumber and tomato and Greek yoghurt with honey. Delicious!
