U13 Girls' Cricket Tournament at Marlborough

U13 Girls' Cricket Tournament at Marlborough

On Friday our 1st Girls' cricket team played in the School Notices 8 a side hardball competition at Marlborough College. The girls played some brilliant cricket in some tricky weather conditions in the morning, managing to win their first 2 games against Emberley and FSM. They needed to win the final group match against Daneshill to progress to the Semi-Finals. The girls bowled and fielded brilliantly to restrict the opposition to a below par score. Unfortunately, the girls were met with 2 very good bowlers who bowled quick and straight and restricted our run scoring and we came up just short and missed out on progressing in the competition. The girls were then lucky enough to have Tammy Beaumont MBE and Mark Alleyne MBE, both infamous cricketing professionals who had kindly offered their time to run workshops on batting and bowling for the girls during the day. Thank you to everyone who ran the day, the girls loved it!
