What’s your job title?

Games Coach and Junior Teacher

Where did you work before this position?

Before working at Sandroyd, I worked in a country state school in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand teaching year 6. I also previously worked as a sports coordinator at large all-boys High School in Christchurch New Zealand.

Where are you from?

I was born and bought up in Kenya, in a small town called Gilgil. Growing up I went to Pembroke House Prep School where both my parents worked. When I was 11 years old, my family decided to leave Kenya. We travelled for 3 months around Africa, before coming to the UK where we lived for a month. We then moved to New Zealand. Where I attended secondary school and university.

What was your favourite subject in school?

My favourite subjects at school were P.E and Geography, this is because the teachers made learning these subjects so much fun.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

When I am not working I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also love being active and going on adventures. I have picked up both Paddle Boarding and Wake boarding since being in the UK.

What’s your biggest fear?

The Dark.

What’s your favourite memory?

Getting charged by a bull Elephant in Zambia while camping with my family. My Dad had to run in front of the elephant to distract it.
