Staff Profile - Etienne Mareau
My name is Etienne Mareau. I joined Sandroyd this September as a French teacher, and I am also helping with games (with a bit of French flair!). I was previously at Clayesmore School, and I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to work and train, in both state and independent education. I hope to be able to fuel students with a curiosity for language and culture as well as instilling them with the confidence to express themselves and to attain their potential.
My wife and I have been living in Dorset for the last 12 years, which is a great place to bring up children. We often go to France (St Malo, Brittany) to visit my family and friends.
I enjoy water sports (swimming, surfing and sailing) and also running across the country side and woods.
I like reading a wide range of literature, writing, music, traveling, and discovering new cultures.
- My favorite museum: Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford
- One of my favorite books: One Hundred years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
- One of my favorite authors: Haruki Murakami
- One of my favorite movies: The big blue, Luc Besson
