Sport: U13 Girls Hockey Tour to Cornwall

Our budding Hockey girls headed off to Cornwall on Friday, and headed straight to Truro to play Truro's U13/14 girls hockey squad which resulted in a convincing win.

On Saturday the girls were up early and bright.  Following breakfast, they made their way back to Truro to play their U14 netball side.  They were well drilled and have been playing matches since September.  It was a tough morning as it had almost been two years since the girls played a competitive game of netball.  Excuses aside, they took on the challenge and finished the game with smiles!  It was a very positive morning and a good ice breaker into the forthcoming netball season.

They returned to the house after a post match pasty, to brave the gales on Porthcothan Beach! Saturday night saw a keenly fought Lip Synch Battle with a sing-off between Molly/Barbie/Aurea/Ken and Old Macdonald and his Farm.  Emerging victorious with their Barbie Girl/ Gummy Bear Medley were Molly & Aurea!  Some other contestants perhaps need more rehearsal time and for some, no amount of rehearsal time would be enough!  Stick to hockey girls!

As the tour drew to a close, on Sunday the girls enjoyed their final breakfast together - scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and the obligatory pancakes didn’t last long on the table! Once fuelled up they headed to Taunton Vale Hockey Club to play their U13/14 club side.  It was a tough game for the girls but great experience finishing off with an 11-a-side game. Well done to all the Girls, a great way to finish the hockey season!
