Sport: Girls Inaugural Covid Cup for Hockey

As we cannot have inter school fixtures as normal, the girls took part in the inaugural Covid Cup for hockey on Wednesday.  Each year group was split into two evenly matched teams, Jaguars & Tigers.  The aim of the day was to let pupils experience the fun and chaos of match day, from checking the team sheet, getting match kit, finding the pitch on time and having fun.

Year 3-6 kicked the matches off with the Jaguars getting off to a flying start with two wins and a draw.  Year 5’s game was hotly contested with a thrilling 2-2 draw and Year 4 doubling the scoreline with a 4-4 draw.  Year 6 was much tighter with only one goal in it.

The games were finished off with a delicious match tea, socially distant of course!  Overall winners and the first holders of the Covid Hockey Cup are the... Jaguars!!!
