Headmaster's Lecture: Richard Miers

Headmaster's Lecture: Richard Miers

On 24th February, we were delighted to welcome Richard Miers, for our second Headmaster’s Lecture of the Lent Term. A former Sandroydian, Richard gave a fascinating talk on his path to become a garden designer; his interest starting in the Walled Garden! Richard showed us some of his amazing projects in London, Norfolk, Surrey and his mesmerising ‘Cloud Walking’ installation at the House and Garden Festival at Olympia. His passion, wealth of knowledge and sensitivity to appreciate horticultural heritage shone through.

His visit provided an invaluable experience for our Sandroyd children who had the opportunity to ask questions throughout his presentation. We would like to congratulate Richard on making his first ever show garden appearance on the main avenue at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show this year, ‘With love’ and thank you again Richard for taking the time to visit and speak to us.
